Mainframe Application Support
The position is primarily focused on the support and maintenance of applications for the Bank’s treasury wholesale business across the globe. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing production support and maintenance of mainframe applications on the GBS platform and number of ancillary products and applications related to GBS.
Responsibility
· Application problem determination for production issues and business queries – This would be a hands-on active problem and incident management role expert level 2 and level 3 levels · Provide ad-hoc design, analysis and code fix support as part of the day to day support team for urgent business issues and enhancement work requests · Participate in Real Time problem management conference calls and help to steer towards a swift resolution of issues · Must be able to manage production issues hands on – on mainframe platforms and applications where there are resource gaps · Close liaison with change management, the business community, technical groups within Bank of America globally and external vendors · Manage business queries regarding business as usual topics · Analysis, Coding, Testing and Integration of emergency fixes
Requirements:
· 6 to 7years of Industry experience with at least 4 years of application support experience preferably in banking and related high pressure environment but other industries would also be considered. - Essential · Good understanding of development playing a key role in support and delivery, client/server technology and business contingency/Disaster recovery solutions – Essential · More than 4 years hands-on experience (demonstrable formal development, bug fix and code enhancement experience) in: COBOL,JCL,IMS DB, IMS DC(basic concepts) · Demonstrable experience in COBOL/IMS code analysis and debugging. · Demonstrable experience in: Mainframe Express, VM & Source manager. · A solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle – Essential · Excellent spoken and written English, clear oral communication skills. Must be willing and able to express new ideas, concerns and opinions directly to wider team in team meetings via teleconference. |
